Mr. Jim Bodison Obituary

Mr. Jim Bodison was born on June 6, 1945, in Walterboro, SC. The son of the Late Jesse R. Bodison and Lucille Ned Bodison, he was the fourth of five children. He departed this life peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2023, surrounded by his family. He received his former education in Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School in 1963. At an early age, Jim joined Saint Peter’s AME Church in Walterboro, SC. He served as a Trustee, Steward, Class Leader, Usher, member of the Prison Ministry, Male Chorus, Finance Committee, Building Committee for Saint Peter’s Family Life Center, devoted member to the Brotherhood of the church and he faithfully attended Bible Study, Church School, Noon Day Prayer, Vacation Bible School and Backyard Bible Club Summer program.

Jim served in the United States Army. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he became a dedicated member of the Disabled American Veterans Organization. He retired from JP Stevens after forty-four years of service and commitment. Jim was loved by so many and would often lend a helping hand by providing transportation to others. Whatever he was doing, he would always go above and beyond! He enjoyed working outdoors, watching football, and eating desirable treats. He was an avid shopper of Amazon. You Tube and Alexia were two of his favorite friends.
He was united in holy matrimony to the late Sandra Bodison. They would share in this union of love for over forty-three years, until her passing, in 2020.  Along with his parents, and beloved wife; he is also preceded in death by one sister, Dixie Lewis and son in law, Emmanuel Wiggins.

Left to honor the beautiful memories of his life: children, Phyllis Sanders-Wiggins, of Walterboro, SC, Adrianne Bodison-Kinard (Tyrone) of Ruffin, SC, April D.
