A LIFE CHERISHED
James Green, 95, was born on April 11, 1928 in Colleton County to the late Laura Green Fogle and John Green. He entered into eternal rest on the evening of Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. George
Health Care Center in St. George, South Carolina.
He was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. He was married to the late Pastor Eliza Jakes Green who preceded him in death.
James was a member of Holiness House of Refuge in Smoaks, South Carolina where he served as a Deacon alongside his late former wife. His hobbies were farming, raising field crops, orchards, vineyards and tending to livestock. He was a farmer for most of his life and was a staple in the Smoaks community and well known in surrounding areas for his leading produce. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great pride in being active in their upbringing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Elouise Linder and Louise Simpson; his sons, James "Bubba" Green, Jr., Nathaniel Brown; two grandchildren, Isaac Linder and Tarsha Linder; three brothers, Louis "Slim" Green, Leroy Green and Ernest Green; one sister, Elizabeth Green.
He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Booker T. Green; two sisters, Rena (Johnny) Williams and Carrie (Thomas) Behling; a devoted grandson who was there for him until his demise, Mark (Jenny) Simpson; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, twenty four great-great grandchildren; two former sisters-in law, Leila Trottman, Flosie Hubbard; one former brother-in-law; Isaiah Jakes; two former sons-in-law, Pastor Nathan Simpson and Abner Linder; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
