Obituary

Mr. Harold Evans, son of the late Rosa Ferguson Evans and Benjamin Evans, Sr.; was born on November 24, 1939, in Green Pond, SC. Being one of thirteen children in the home, he was reared in the Green Pond Community during his early childhood years. As he attended the public schools of Walterboro, Harold would graduate from Colleton High School. In his young adult years, he moved to New York City where he was employed as a Therapy Aide at the Bronx Psychiatric Center in Bronx, NY. He exercised a great deal of care when delivering medications and ensuring the safety and well-being of his patients.

While living in New York City, Harold met and married the late Geraldine Wilson Evans in April 1961. From their union, they were blessed with three children: Cheryl Evans, Brenda Evans (Hazel), and Harold Evans, Jr. Later in life, Harold was blessed with two children: Derek Evans and Tonya DeLoach. Harold was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a steadfast and committed member of Friendly Baptist Church in Bronx, NY. Upon his relocation to Hephzibah, Harold become a loyal and dedicated member of Sharon Baptist Church. Harold served as a member of the choir who consistently fellowshipped, studied scriptures, and shared the word of God with everyone he encountered. He was meticulous with his style of dress; being sure to continuously update his suit collection with a variety of colors and styles. He shared an admiration for double breasted suits. He also enjoyed.
spending quality time with his friends and family. You can always count on Harold to show you around town, share a meal at his favorite restaurant, and visit his local activity center.

During the early morning hours of Thursday: August 3, 2023; Mr. Harold Evans departed from the shores of time to gain his eternal home in glory. The legacy of his life will forever be honored by his children; Derek Evans, Cheryl Evans, Brenda Hazel, Harold Evans Jr.: adopted daughter, Tonya Evans; sister, Mary Thomas; brothers, Joe Lee Evans, Johnny Evans, Nathaniel Evans; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
