Frank Battle Jr, a devoted father and grandfather was born on November 10, 1932 to the late Frank Battle Sr and Florence Jackson in Warrington, Georgia. Frank departed this life on Monday July 25, 2022 at his residence in Williams, South Carolina.
Frank who was affectionately known as “Pop-Pop by his grandchildren, was educated in the Washington Public School System. He was a gentle giant who loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchild dearly. Frank was a hard worker, he was employed at Warren & Griffin Lumber in Williams for 50 years.
Frank loved to fish and was an avid gardener. He would often share his harvest with family, friends and those in the community. Family, friends and coworkers will best remember Frank as the snack man. His truck was always filled with snacks and sodas.
He is preceded in death by his daughters Florence “Cookie” Battle and Jacqueline Hand. His siblings: Willie Mae English, Thelma Norris, Eddie Battle, Norse Battle, Cleveland Battle, Willie Battle and Johnny Battle.
Frank leaves to cherish his life and memories his daughter and caregiver, Carol Jones; his sons Gregory Battle, Frank (Betty) Battle Jr, McKinley (Darlene) Battle and Mark Rose; a caregiver Orzetta Rivers, a best friend and fishing partner Willie Aiken; 24 grandchildren, host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
