Mr. Esau Levi ("Bowman Pimp") Singleton

September 6, 1953 ~ July 14, 2023 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Mr. Esau Levi Singleton, son of the late Phillip Singleton, Sr. and Anna Lee Jones Singleton, was born September 9, 1953, in Walterboro, South Carolina.  At the age of sixty-nine, during the evening hours of Friday: July 14, 2023, shortly after being surrounded by his loved ones; Esau departed from the shores of time, while in the Summerville Medical Center.  He received his formal education and graduated from the Colleton County School System.

At an early age, he desired to fall into the footsteps of his father, to become a brick mason.  Throughout all his years of laying brick, he took pride in his work. Esau even ironed his work clothes, right before going to work.

August 1, 2022, Esau rededicated his life to Christ.  He attended Holy Temple Church of Walterboro, South Carolina.  The last time he attended church, he was very weak, but determined and driven to press forward to the House of God.

Esau loved his family, friends, and especially his life-long partner, Renee DuBois. He was known to visit often, but never stayed too long.  Affectionately known as, ‘Bowman Pimp”, he loved a good party.  He was known to laugh, joke, and do his favorite two step, with his sisters.

Preceding him in death along with his parents, is: son, Rodney Stokes: sister, Barbara Ann Singleton and brother, Randolph Singleton.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Shannon (Dwayne) Walden, Ieshia (Jared) Frazier, Eron Overton, Clyde Moore, and Andrea (Vernon) Singleton Graham; grandchildren, Dante Mitchell, Jordan Spears, London Maxwell, Harlym Frazier, Dubai Frazier, Tyler Graham, Tyra Graham, Blake Stokes, Shamorie Overton, Tyshawn Overton, Jakee Griffin, Clyde Griffin, and Paris Griffin; siblings, Edith Dent, Janie Black, Essie (Mark) Jones, Althea (Michael Wright, Phillip, Jr. Leviticus (Joei), Jefferson, Kenneth, Stacy, and Bruce (Nicole) Singleton; recognition and respect to all other siblings; daughter-in-law, Shellevese Stokes; aunts, Margie Singleton, Mary Singleton, and Naomi Ford. Along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
