Mr. David Brion Pollard Sr, the son of the late Patricia Ann Mott and James Mott was born on March 3, 1962, in Washington, D.C. Relocating to Walterboro, he was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. Stepping into adulthood he sought to serve his country and enlisted with the United States Army. After receiving an honorable discharge, David returned to Walterboro and began his employment with the South Carolina Department of Transportation. Starting from the bottom of the pay scale, to becoming a foremen and supervisor; after twenty-eight years of dedication and service, David retired in 2017. Along with working for SCDOT, David was gainfully employed as a Security Office at Colleton Medical Center for over fifteen years.
On July 8, 1996, became joined in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Brenda S. Bazzle. They would share in many years of love and the joys of life until his passing. In 1999, David decided to go back and finished what he started, and he received his G.E.D. This was one of the proudest moments of his life. A beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, to know David was to know that life itself was laughter and love. He was a great leader and a great man who was loved by many. He was always one phone call away and never hesitated to help anyone.
During the early morning hours of Tuesday: April 11, 2023, David answered the Master’s Call and departed from the shores of time. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by one brother, Filmore Pollard.
Left to embrace the legacy of his life are: his devoted wife, Brenda Pollard of the home: five children; David (Tamika) Pollard, Jr., Tiffany (Fred) Dantzler, Amber Pollard (Irvin), Tina (Rick) Sanders and Rachel Bazzle, all of Walterboro, SC: brothers, James (Mary) Pollard, William (Peggy) Queen, James (Annette) Mott, Walford (Gloria) Pollard, Gregory (Christine) Pollard and Michael Pollard: a multitude of grand and great-grandchildren: along with a host of numerous other relatives and friends.
