Mr. Clarence Magwood Obituary

Respectfully, we honor the life of Mr. Clarence Magwood.  Mr. Magwood was born on December 31, 1936 to the late Quincy & Rosa Magwood; in Round O, South Carolina.  During his youth, he was educated in the local public-school system; and also became a member of the Trinity A.M.E. Church of Round O, under the leadership of the late Reverend Stevenson.  As he became an adult Clarence ventured North, where he would embark on the journey of life. With his one main store being one Sutphin Blvd. open twenty-four hours a day; Clarence was the owner of three stores in the Jamaica, New York area.  Known collectively as Magwood Food Service, his stores employed a number of people that included his very own family members. Clarence was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Ernestine Mag, wood and this union would be blessed with two sons, Clarence Carl Magwood, Jr. & Rev. Dr. Eric Magwood,

Returning home in 2000, to assist with the care of his mother; Clarence enjoyed life and all it had to offer. His hobbies include: listening to country western music, politics, a good debate; and a daily routine of walking ten miles per day until his health failed. He was a family-oriented man. On Thursday; August 29, 2019, Clarence entered gained his eternal home.  His life living will forever be a testament, and those moments will forever be cherished by: two sons, Reverend Dr. Eric (Sharon) Magwood & Clarence Carl (Michelle) Magwood, Jr.: five grandchildren, Zaquan Howard, Elizabeth Magwood, China Magwood, Cheyanne Magwood, and Nyasia Magwood: one great grandchild, London Howard: three brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Magwood, Scipio (Lacey) Magwood and Quincy (Elaine) Magwood, Jr.: one sister, Mabel Magwood-Williams: devoted niece, Wilhemena Sanders, along with a host of numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Service arrangements have been updated. Please leave a candle of memorandum or feel free to sign the online guestbook, as expressions of sympathy to this bereaved family.
