Mr. Benjamin Alonzo (“Benji”) Jenkins, III

Mr. Benjamin Alonzo “Benji” Jenkins III was the son of the late Benjamin Alonzo Jenkins Jr. and Jacqueline Thompson-Jenkins. Benji was born on December 11, 1987, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Benji transitioned from mortality to immortality on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Benji attended Aimwell Presbyterian Church in Round O, South Carolina under the leadership of Reverend Perry D Griffin.

Benji attended the public schools of Colleton County. He graduated from Colleton County High School in 2006. He was employed with AMI Kids in Seabrook, S.C. until his health stopped him from working. Benji was united in holy matrimony to his wife Melody Bowens-Jenkins and with this union Benji gained a Stepson, Anthony “Tayvon” Washington.

Preceding Benji in death are his Father Benjamin Alonzo Jenkins Jr, Grandfather Benjamin A. Jenkins Sr, Grandmother Annie Mae Jenkins and Etta Thompson and a Godson ZyHiem Bellinger.

Left to cherish is memories are his loving wife, Melody Bowens-Jenkins, Step-son Anthony “Tayvon” Washington, his mother Jacqueline Jenkins (Ricky Holmes), his brothers Dante Roberts, Antwan (Sandy) Thompson, his brother in laws Vince Bowens, Nathaniel Gerald Lewis Jr. and Tron (LaTia) Dover; his sister in laws Megan (TJ) Allen and Candice Lewis; his mother in law Emily Myers; his father in law Nathaniel Lewis Sr: his Grandparents Harvey(Mary) Edwards; his nephews Dante Roberts Jr, Antwan Thompson Jr and Christian Roberts;  his nieces Sannalynn Bethea, London Thompson, Ahva Price-Roberts, Paris Thompson and Nylasia Lee; his Godchildren JaShere Brown, Amani Judge, Rielle Priester, Dezyme and Davahni Jenkins; special friends Christopher Doyle, Quentin, Brandon, Andrew, David and Sharron Jenkins, Frank and Timothy Williams; along with a numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
