Mr. Amos Magwood, the second child born to the late Willie “Bubba” Magwood, Sr. & Maggie Barnett Magwood; was born on December 15, 1949, in Green Pond, South Carolina. Amos attended public school in Colleton County, he aimed to leave his hometown after a few years of high school. Relocating to Florida for a decade, Amos gained experience in various industries such as: commercial roofing, driving, and fertilizer handling, working for several companies including Castro Food Co. and Kerr-Mcgee. When he returned home to Green Pond, SC, he began working as a dedicated construction worker.
Affectionately known as “Geech”, he was the life of the family. Always keeping a smile and ready to have a good time, he brought the best out of everyone. Some of his past times are fishing, hunting, and cooking. His life will bring us joy, as we now mourn his passing.
On Sunday: July 2, 2023, Amos departed from the shores of time. Preceding him in death along with his parents are; brother Willie “Speedy” Magwood Jr.; sister Rosa Lee Mikel; a special niece, Michele Magwood; and a special friend, Demetris Lamont Simmons.
He leaves to cherish his memories his only son Cameron , two brothers, David Magwood Sr. (Rose Gant, special friend), Walterboro, SC, Eunice Magwood (ex-wife) Beaufort, SC, and Regina Bryant (ex-wife) Green Pond, SC: and Jerome Magwood Sr. (Laverne), both of Walterboro, SC: of two sisters, Ada Brown (Samuel, Sr.) Green Pond, SC, and Shirley Williams (Samuel) of Orangeburg, SC: sister-in-law, Martha M. Johnson of Charleston, SC,: a special niece Demia Magwood: along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
