Mother Thelma Louise Stephens

The Legacy of Her Life
Mother. Thelma Louise Stephens, daughter of the late Joe Lace and Carrie Adkinson and Chinnie Stephens Adkinson was born on September 10, 1921 in Islandton, SC. She entered eternity December 28, 2018. Thelma was educated in the Colleton County public school system in South Carolina. She was a member of Red Root United Methodist Church of Ruffin and served faithfully and diligently until her health declined. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Eddie Stephens for seventy-three years prior to his death. To this union they were blessed with nine children. Preceding her in death are her husband, five sons, Eddie Jr., Joe Carl, Isaac James, David, and Kenneth Stephens; one grandson, Anthony Aiken, and one granddaughter, FaybesMcFadden, four sisters and four brothers.

Left to cherish her loving memories are three daughters, Oveder (Isaac) Andrews of Philadelphia, PA; Rosella (Elroy) Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; and Mary Stephens of Philadelphia, PA; one son, Thomas Lee Stephens of Ruffin, SC; one brother, Joe Carter Adkinson; two sisters in law, Rev. Mary E. Adkinson, and Wibber Stephens; twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty-three great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, four honorary grandchildren, eleven honorary great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
