1945 ~ 2020 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Mother Leviticus Taylor Obituary

"Trials dark on every hand and we cannot understand, all the ways God will lead us, to the blessed promised land; He will guide us with His eye and we'll follow til we die; and we will understand it better, by and by."  On Wednesday: October 21, 2020, during the afternoon hours; Mother Leviticus Taylor understood that the time for her to receive the heavenly fruits of her labor on earth, had come. 

Mother Leviticus Jones Taylor, one of thirteen children born to the late Mr. J.E. Augustus and Shellie Brown Jones, entered this world on June 7, 1945.  She was married to the late Bishop Lewis N. Taylor of Walterboro on December 31, 1962 and to this union they have six children. Mother Taylor was educated in the Colleton County school system. She also studied nursing at Orangeburg Technical College. She later owned Wig World and opened a local daycare where she serviced children for many years.  She also spent time as a private sitter.  

Mother Taylor was a member and Mother of Saints Center Ministries where she served as the First Lady for 44 years, head of the Women’s Department and a member of the Treasury Department.  As the First Lady she worked tirelessly alongside her husband.  She served as the head of the Women’s Department and member of the Treasury Department until her death. She loved the Lord, her church and her Family and she would tell people everywhere she went. She also loved to sing and her favorite song “ The King Is Coming”.

Preceding her in death along with her parents are her husband of fifty-four years, Bishop Lewis N. Taylor, four brothers, Sonny Jones, John Jones, Rodney Jones and Reuben Jones.  One step sister Pastor Mary McKay and a granddaughter Ashton Olivia Taylor. Left to remember her legacy are her loving children Rolets Buckner, Stella (Paul) Jones, David (Stephanie) Taylor, Sarai Taylor, Pastor Phillip (First Lady Wanda) Taylor and Janet Taylor.  Three sisters Ella John, Virginia Jones, and Shelley Jones and one brother Connie (Anna) Jones. Her step siblings Hilda Reid, Margaret (Donald) Blakeney, Elder William (Louise) Blakeney, Alvin Blakeney, and Gilbert (Mary) Blakeney.  Sister-in-laws Doris Taylor-Hill, Carolyn Jones, Carol Jones, Irma Montgomery, Blanche Taylor and Crystal Jones.  Her grandchildren Brianne Buckner, Emmanuel Buckner, Paul Jones Jr., Christina Jones, Bryan Jones, NeQuan (Britt) Brown, Keyrod Nixon, DaVaun Taylor, Emmanuel Holmes, Charese Taylor, Phillip Taylor Jr., Peyton Taylor and Laurel Smith, her best friend of many years Esther Denny.  Her sixteen great grandchildren, three special additional great grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family.

As this family continues in celebrating her life; they wish to graciously express their appreciation in advance, for all the acts of kindness, love and sympathy being shown to them. In honor of the final wishes of our dearly departed, there will be no public visitation. In an effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19; yet rendering the final celebrations; There will be a private service held Eleven O' Clock in the morning on Saturday: October 24, 2020. Services will be live-streamed.  The interment will follow on Monday: October 26, 2020 twelve noon, at the Beaufort National Cemetery: 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC. 29902.
