On Friday, March 08, 1940, in the small town of Ruffin, S.C. Ms. Gladys Stephens, the second child of the late James and Dorothy Stephens, entered into this world. On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, Gladys (80), answered her heavenly call while surrounded by her loving sons and faithful brother.
Gladys was a lifelong resident of Ruffin, S.C. Though she did not leave her home often, she was always up to date on the town's information. Gladys was a woman who loved to dress. Often she would get dressed as if she was on her way out, only to sit on her porch. She enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the cars drive by and just enjoying the beauty of a sunny day. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend. She loved to spend time with her family, laughing, joking and reminiscing about the old days. She will be remembered for her signature smile. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Donnie Ruth Stephens, and a sister Dorothy Mae Rose.
Gladys leaves to cherish her life her children, Larry Stephens and John Stephens; two brothers, Lucas Stephens and James Stephens, who were her care- givers for many years. One special nephew, Kendrin Nixon. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
As Koger’s Mortuary Service is in charge of the final arrangements; the services have been updated. The family wishes to graciously express their gratitude for all acts of kindness shown to them during this time.
