We respectfully remember the life of the late Mother Annabell Carter, formerly of Jacksonboro, South Carolina. She was a resident of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Mother Carter transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday March 15, 2020 at the Trident Medical Center of Charleston, South Carolina. She was the head mother of the Greater Calvary African Methodist Episcopal Church of Jacksonboro, South Carolina.
Mother Annabell Carter was born on August 19, 1920 in Jacksonboro South Carolina. She was the oldest Daughter of the late Nancy and Jessie Parker and the Wife of the late Thomas Carter.
Annabell was a virtuous woman of God. she was the head mother of Greater Calvary A.M.E. Church of Jacksonboro SC. Annabell loved the Lord, she was very dedicated and faithful to her church, a faithful tither and humble servant. Annabell strongly believed in the Holy Bible, and even after her eyes weakened, she continued to read scriptures daily. Although she was soft spoken she was comical and well known for her zest for family, love and the laughter she brought to others. We will miss Sunday dinner gatherings held at “Big Mommas” house. Preceding her in death are her three daughters Lorine Cox, Evelina Snell, and Mary Ann Bryant.
Annabell gave birth to seven children, JC Williams (Ruth) of North Charleston SC, Lorine Cox (St Julian Cox), Evelina Snell (Leroy Snell), Ernest Carter of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Ann Bryant, Abdullah Jones ( Fatima) ( Aminah) of Atlanta GA, and Elnora Lowery (Dino) of Goose Creek SC. She left her one and only loving sister, Ellamae Broughton, where the bond between them was inseparable, 25 grands ,43 great grands, a host of great great grands, along with neice’s and nephew’s and a host of cousins and friends.
