Mother Lela Belle McPherson Barnett, was born on May 21, 1924 in Green Pond, SC to the late Vilo Washington and Harry McPherson. On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, our almighty God in his infinite wisdom sent his angels to personally escort our beloved Lela Belle home to rest.
Lela received her formal education in the public school system of South Carolina. At a young age she moved to Philadelphia, PA, where she gained employment with Philadelphia Electric Company until her retirement. She met and married King David Barnett.

She will be greatly missed as she was loved and admired by many. Lela lived ninety-eight beautiful years, and we are truly blessed to have been a part of her journey. She will forever be in our hearts as she will live through us all until we meet again.
