Mosey Kemp, affectionately known as “Moses” or “Poppa Cat,” was born on November 24, 1956, in Hampton, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Arthur Kemp, Sr. and Mrs. Anglee Jamison Buckner. He was the second of three children born to this union.
On January 12, 2026, Moses peacefully went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family.
Moses received his education in the public school system of Hampton County. He dedicated over 29 years of service to Tyrone Kinard Trucking LLC, where he worked faithfully until his health declined. He enjoyed simple pleasures—sitting down for coffee at Huddle House, riding motorcycles, driving semi‑trucks, and watching football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Mourice Kemp.
Moses leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Minister Tyrone Kinard (Adrianne) of Ruffin, South Carolina; his daughters, Angela Brown‑McFadden (Harold, Jr.) of Lodge, South Carolina, and Shawna Kemp of North Charleston, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Tre’ana Parrish, Tyrion Kinard, Josh’ea McFadden, Jayla Bryan, Harold McFadden III, Jayla Bryan, and Braylinn Williams; two great‑grandchildren, Reigna Griffin and Liam Kinard; his brothers, PH Kemp and Arthur Kemp, Jr.; three children reared in the home, Lakisha Slaughter, Ricky Moton and Jonathan Fair; one uncle; three aunts, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew him
