Miss Sariya Eunique Manigo, the daughter of Ryan Lenard Manigo and Vernisher Mikel Manigo, was born on September 2, 2011, in Walterboro, SC.
Receiving her early education, she recently graduated from Forest Hills Elementary School, where she was awarded the Superintendent's List and the Terrific Kid Award. Sariya was a rising sixth grader at Colleton County Middle School.
At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ at St. Peter's AME Church in Walterboro, South Carolina, under the leadership of Reverend Leon R. Maxwell. She sang in the Genesis Youth choir, served as part of the YPD Young People Division, and served in the South Carolina Conference 7th Episcopal District DMC Christian Debutante Master Commission.
Sariya was also very active in the community. She was an active member of The Walterboro Panthers Cheerleading Squad and member of the Bodison-Jamison POW #189 MBTGYG. She was a joy in everyone’s life and her presence will forever be cherished.
She is preceded in death by one sister, Sharmaine Rutledge. Grandmother, Rosa Lee Magwood Mikel and niece, Shamiah Rutledge
Her precious life will be forever cherished by her parents, Vernisher Manigo & Ryan Lenard Manigo; brothers Deandre Mikel Sr. (Brianna), Dante Rutledge (Michelle); Grandparents, William Mikel Sr., Charles Bunton (Jinell) and Randolph Whitlock (Johnnie Mae): Nieces and Nephews, Shayla Rutledge, K'liah Mikel, Deandre Mikel, Jr., and Kamareona Mikel: Godparents, Corey Whitlock, and Eunice Magwood: Best Friends Kamora Wright: cousin/like sisters, Chole Withrow, Penelope Johnson. Walterboro Panthers Cheer Squad: along with a host of numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
