Mary Gantt Marc daughter of the late Herman Farmer and Martha Gantt, was born November 28, 1950. She was reared in the public schools of Brooklyn, N.Y. She graduated from Erasmus High School and attended Brooklyn College.
Growing up Mary has a passion for cooking and sewing. She also had a green thumb and had a heart for gardening. She worked with the Colleton School System and later with the Board of Disabilities, where she was able to retire.
Before migrating back home to Walterboro, South Carolina she attended the Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ in Brooklyn, N.Y. In South Carolina Mary was a faithful and dedicated member of Saints Center Ministries. She served in various positions such as youth choir director, youth director, usher, and youth bible study teacher. Mary loved her church family.
She dearly loved her son and grandchildren. On Monday December 11, 2023 she exchanged time for eternity surrounded by her loving family. Preceding her in death along with her parents are brothers; Robert Gantt and Herman Farmer, Jr., and her Sister; Myrtle E. Farmer.
She leaves to cherish her memories: A son; Andre Marc of Brooklyn, N.Y., Grandchildren; Olivia Marc and Nicholas Marc of Brooklyn, N.Y., brothers; Ernest Fields of Walterboro, S.C., Vernon (Joyce) Gantt of Stroudsburg PA., and Lewis (Jeanette) Farmer of Charleston, W.V., Along with a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
