Life Reflections of Ms. Marcia Varn Washington
Ms. Marcia Varn Washington was born on February 29, 1964, and departed this
life for her heavenly home on Friday, April 24, 2026. She was the beloved
youngest daughter of the late Mr. Bradley Varn, Jr. and Mrs. Lilla Capers Varn.
She was also deeply influenced by the wisdom and love of her grandparents,
the late Mr. Leon Capers and Mrs. Ella Mole Capers, as well as the late Mr.
Bradley Varn, Sr. and Mrs. Beulah Varn.
Affectionately known as “Marcie,” she was educated in the public schools of
Colleton County, South Carolina, and was a proud graduate of RuAin High
School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Bradley Varn, Jr. and Mrs.
Lilla Capers Varn; her grandparents; her brothers, Mack Varn and Bobby L. Varn;
sisters-in-law, Patricia Varn and Mary Varn; her sister, Grace Johnson; her
uncles, Tommy Capers, Rickey Capers, and Cecil Capers; her aunt, Betty
Gillyard; and her great-niece, Kyra Varn.
Marcie was a woman of quiet strength, love, and deep devotion. Though she
lived a private life and moved with intention and care, her presence was deeply
felt by all who knew her. She was truly family oriented, placing the needs and
happiness of her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews above all else.
Her life was a true reflection of selflessness, she gave freely of her time, her
love, and her energy without ever considering it a burden. Her grandchildren
were the joy of her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Marcie’s love was steadfast, protective, and unconditional. She also expressed
her love through her cooking, an exceptional cook, she carried on cherished
family traditions by preparing dishes like milk pies and perlo rice, recipes
passed down through generations.
God, in His infinite wisdom, called His angel home, and though our hearts are
heavy, we find comfort in knowing she now rests in eternal peace.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter, Tywanna “Cheyanne”
White (Stencil “Jay”); her devoted sons, Robert “Kentrelle” Washington and Tyre
Hakeem Washington; those she lovingly raised, La-Ron M. Johnson (Jannifer),
Myra L. Johnson, and Judy L. Johnson Green (Tony); her cherished
grandchildren, Azion J. White, Israel L. White, Zayden Washington, and Zari
Washington; her caring brothers, Cleveland Varn and Gerald Varn; her uncle,
Ronnie “Pete” Capers (Evangelist Norma); along with a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she touched in countless
ways. Though she is no longer with us in the flesh, her love, kindness, and
legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will forever be honored,
cherished, and deeply missed.
