Master Sergeant Fernando Manuel Silva was born on February 5, 1965 in Portugal to Jose da Silva and Maria da Silva. Hegraduated from the public schools in Rhode Island and later attended college in Rhode Island.
MSG Fernando Silva enlisted in the United States Coast Guard for six years and later enlisted in the United States Army for fifteen years.
