Lillie Mae Green Williams was born on March 25, 1941, in Colleton County. Lille was the daughter of the late Oliver Green and Lydia Brown Green.
She attended the public schools of Colleton County and grew into adulthood in the shadow of a caring, loving family and community. Lillie became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist at early age, where she served as a devoted usher.
Lillie spent time in Orlando, Florida then moved to Newark, New Jersey and later moved back to her native home. She was employed by the Department of Social Services in Walterboro, South Carolina as a caregiver. She also worked for the Resort Service, Inc of Bluffton, South Carolina.
Lillie married Leroy Williams on February 11, 1961, and from that union one child was born, Sandra Williams Magwood. She later married Herbert Lee Williams in 2020.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Lillie will always be remembered for her contagious smile. She was a strong and very independent person.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Lydia Green; sisters, Sarah Ann Green and Mary Magalene Black; brothers, Daniel Green and Johnnie Louis Green.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Sandra Williams Magwood; son, Earnest (Tena) Green; one great niece raised in the home, Shantajah Black; seven grandchildren; two grandchildren raised in the home, Shadiyah Williams and Bernard Magwood; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Green; sister in law, Marjorie Williams McCloud; special cousins, Sandra Brown, Elizabeth Green, Sylvester Brown, Kinard Brown, Cleveland Brown, Ronnie Brown, Sarah Green, Mac Arthur Washington and Jamie Brown along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
