Laurie Jarido (93), whom many called Buck, was born on January 5, 1933, in Colleton County to the late Thomas and Ruth Simmons Jarido. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the E. Roy Veteran Home in Columbia, SC.
He served his country in the United States Army during The Korean War. After his military service, he began his career as a bricklayer for over 50 years.
Later in life Laurie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of St. John Baptist Church where he faithfully attended until his health began to decline.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Elsie Haynes Jarido for (63) years and to this union, eight children were born.
Laurie was preceded in death by two brothers, Solomon and Willie Jarido and two sisters Annie Lee Williams and Evelyn Jarido.
He leaves behind his wife, Elsie Jarido of the home; children, Doris (Randy) Simmons, Cedric Jarido, Barbara (Norman) Patterson, Cheryl Trish Jarido, Rogetta Jarido, all of Walterboro, SC, Antwain Jarido of Goose Creek, SC, Susan (James)Coaxum and Laurienetta (Jimmy) Reed of Columbia, SC, grandchildren and (6) great grands, a granddaughter reared in the home Tamara Patterson of Summerville SC. Sisters, Loretha Jarido, of Newark, New Jersey and Magaret Middleton of Summerville, SC and a brother, Harvey (Betty) Jerideau of Walterboro, SC, sisters in law, Martha Jarido of Columbia, SC and Betty Jerideau of Walterboro, SC, one aunt, Allene Pringle of New Jersey a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews and other loving relatives.
