Laura Ann Sims

Ms. Laura Ann Chisolm Sims the daughter of the late Gladys E. Chisolm and Frank Chisolm, Sr. was born on November 3, 1962, in Green Pond, South Carolina.  She entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2024.

Laura Ann was educated in Colleton County Public Schools and attended Lowcountry Technical College.

She accepted Christ in her life at an early age and recently renewed her membership at Mt. Olive AME Church.

 Laura was a dedicated employee of Columbia Sussex for 38 years.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marthine (Sister) Edwards and Geraldine (Nancy) Polite and one brother, Walter Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Tawanna Washington (Raymond) of Walterboro, SC, Keith Bowens (Pamela) of Green Pond, SC and two nieces that she raised as her own, Nakia Williams (Larry) of Beaufort, SC and Jahnavia Johnson of Walterboro, SC; three grandchildren, Amaray Washington, Rehyanna Washington and Kadarius Washington; one Godson, Javon Sanders; siblings, Frank Chisolm, Jr. of Bronx, NY, Mildred Smith of Green Pond, SC, Mary Mallory (Alexander) of Manhattan, NY, Patricia Horne of Manhattan, NY, Mark Edwards (Margie) of Walterboro, SC, Barbara Singleton (Edmund) of Columbus, GA , Isaac Johnson of Green Pond, SC and Cynthia Levine (James) of Goose Creek, SC and a host of  nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
