Lamont Kittrell Obituary

Lamont Antonio Kittrell affectionately known as “Hulio from Dooley” was born September 7, 1979, in Walterboro, South Carolina to Ruby L. Kittrell and Danny L. Thomas.  He entered eternal rest on September 11, 2025, peacefully at home.

Lamont was a graduate of Walterboro High School Class of 1997 and later served in the United States Army. After serving he lived his life to the fullest, becoming a traveler and a father to two beautiful daughters and one grandson.  Amongst his travels, he never met a stranger and soon known for his passion of cooking, becoming everyone’s “Grill Man” and “Life of the Party.”

Hulio soon found his way back home to Walterboro, South Carolina and spent his time with close family and friends, having fun and making memories.  If he wasn’t doing that, he was going to make sure he spent most of his time with his best friend, David L. Sanders or simply hanging out with his sister, they were two peas in a pod, you wouldn’t find one without the other.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Bessie Kittrell and Eula Thomas; grandfather, Julius Reid; great-grandmother, Lena Thomas: brother, Christopher Powell; uncle, Charles Kittrell; niece, Shaniyah Burden; aunts, Ella M. Adams and Mary A. Thomas and close cousins Kenneth A. Mitchell, Chad L. Mitchell and Nicole D. Harlen.

Kittrell of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Tru R. Jacobs of Columbia, SC; grandfather, Elijah Kittrell, Sr. of Walterboro, SC; sisters, Tamekia Pringle of Atlanta, GA, Aleshia Kittrell and Shakeir’a Powell of Walterboro, SC and Ahastasia and Kimberly Thomas of Roanoke, VA; brothers, Danny Thomas, Sr. of Roanoke, VA and Jeremiah White of New Haven, CT; aunts, Julie Hodges and Donna Reid of Walterboro, SC; uncles, Elijah Kittrell, Jr., Perry Kittrell, Arnold Ellison, Henry (Faye) Thomas and Kenneth Hall; great aunt, Lillie M.
