Ky’mere Marcel Holmes also known as “Bubba” was born on October 21, 2023, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Ky’mere transitioned from mortality to immortality on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1 year and 3 months old. Ky’mere was the son of Nyanza A. Nelson and Tyreek J. Holmes.
Ky’mere was a sweet and loving baby boy that loved to play with dinosaurs, basketballs and blocks. He also loved watching Sesame Street, and his favorite character was Cookie Monster.
Ky’mere also loved to Praise the Lord. He loved church and he walked up and down the aisles and clapped his hands.
Dancing was his favorite thing to do. He loved when his MaMa (Glenda Stephens) sung “The Windows of Heaven” to him since birth.
His Pop Pop was his everything, he would wait every day for him to come through the door and yell “Pop Pop!”
Ky’mere loved his Uncle Dre (Andrae Gadsden, Jr), Uncle Johnathan Nelson and Auntie Sha Sha (Shaniah Nelson).
He had a special bond and special relationship with his mother and loved her like no other. It was always “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy.”
His first word was “Dada”, and his second word was “Ya Ya” that eventually began Ya-Yoooo!
He was a little man with a big heart. He loved his father, Tyreek Holmes, all you heard was Daddy, Dada. He would often say, “You are Daddy’s Boy” and laugh at all his dance moves.
His memories will be cherished by his mother, Nyanza Nelson; father, Tyreek Holmes; grandparents, Leandrea and Pasqua Nelson, Lakeyia Graham; Great grandparents, Glenda Stephens (MaMa), Helen Graham and Julius and Gloria Nelson; aunt, Shaniah Nelson; uncles, Andrae Gadsden, Jr, Jalil Graham, Chase Sanders, Major Fryar and Johnathan Nelson; favorite cousin, Ariel Gadsden; Godparents, Terren White and Chazz Frazier, who spoiled him like their own and would buy him anything he wanted, along with great aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
