“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1
Kenneth Laquan Johnson, III, affectionately known as “Geezy,” the son of Lisa (Rick) Haynes and Kenneth Johnson, Jr. was born March 10, 1991, in Green Pond, South Carolina. Kenny transitioned from mortality to immortality on Friday, November 22, 2024.
Kenny attended school in Colleton County, South Carolina. He graduated from Willow Gray Academy in Columbia, South Carolina. He was employed with Blythe Construction.
Kenny had a vibrant and unapologetically unique personality. He was full of life, unapologetically himself, and had a way of making sure everyone around him felt his energy. If you weren’t sitting at the card table or rolling dice with him, you might as well stay out of his path, because Kenny didn’t have time for anything that didn’t match his energy. He was the kind of man who told it like it was, no matter what. And if things didn’t go his way, well, you could count on Kenny to let you know- probably with his favorite word “Scumbag.” That was just Kenny’s way of keeping it real and reminding us all to shake it off and keep going.
He was more than a brother, he was a friend, a confidant and someone who would stand up for the people he loved with hesitation. Kenny left an imprint on all of us with his humor, his passion, and his authenticity. Although we will miss him deeply, let’s carry his spirit forward. Let’s remember his laughter, his loyalty, and his fierce love for his family. Rest easy Kenny, you’ll forever be in our hearts.
Preceding him in death is grandmother, Lillie Mae Thomas; two grandfathers, Willie Thomas, Sr. and Kenneth Johnson, Sr. and one uncle, Benjamin Stephens.
Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Bria Johnson; four beautiful children, Jamareana, Kamora, Ja’Lyshia and Za’Carri Johnson all of Walterboro, South Carolina; a loving mother, Lisa Haynes; fathers, Rick Haynes and Kenneth Johnson, Jr; mother and father-in-law, Cynthia and Henry Sanders; grandmothers, Louretta Johnson and Sara Clayton; grandfathers, Hercules Haynes (Carstine); sisters, Deandria Thomas (Tierra), Andrea Hills (Donavon), Shekeithia Ferguson and Myangela Haynes; brothers, Javante Johnson and Dante Haynes; brothers-in-law, Andrew Clayton and Hernandez Sanders; aunts, Annette Richard (Woodrow), Sonia Williams, Threasa Thomas and Katrina Frazier (Alexander); uncles, Willie Thomas, Jr. (Michelle), Tyrone Johnson and Lamont Johnson and a host of grandaunts, granduncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and his 2924 brothers.
