It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Hamilton, who departed this life peacefully on September 23, 2025, at the age of 73. Jerry was a beloved father, uncle, brother, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on August 16, 1952, in Colleton County, Jerry grew up with a strong sense of family, community, and hard work. These values stayed with him throughout his life and were evident in everything he did. Whether it was lending a hand to a neighbor, or simply being there when someone needed him, Jerry lived his life with generosity and grace.
Jerry was a devout member of Faith and Action Ministries of Walterboro, South Carolina, under the leadership of Apostle Ollie M. White.
Jerry’s love for his family and friends was the cornerstone of his life. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved — laughing, sharing meals, and making memories. He believed in showing up, listening, and being present. He never met a stranger, and his warm spirit made everyone feel welcome.
He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures He could often be found working with his hands, always with a calm presence and a gentle smile.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Elouise Graham, Johnnie Lee Hamilton, Tony Hamilton, Haskell Taylor, Leonard Taylor, & Winford Taylor.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength. He is survived by his children; Tiffany Griffin & Tyrone Griffin, siblings; Harvey Taylor & Bubba Davis. A special niece & caretaker; Katrina Bell, along with a host of other cousins, relatives & friends. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
