Janet Pinckney, the daughter of Mildred and Mark Simmons was born on August 17, 1967. She entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
She moved from New York City to South Carolina at an early age. Janet was a 1985 graduate of Walterboro High School and attended the Technical College of the Low Country in Beaufort, South Carolina. She was employed with Wee Care of North Charleston for over ten years.
Janet was a God-fearing woman, who loved the Lord and served faithfully at Soul Saving Refuge Center.
She was preceded in death by Isabelle Pinckney and Rosemary Burgess.
Janet leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, her parents Mark and Mildred Simmons of Walterboro, SC; three sisters, Edith Pinckney of Walterboro, SC, Lorraine (Vance) Frazier of Havelock, NC and Jacqueline Jenkins of Walterboro, SC; three brothers, Johnny (Bettye) Pinckney of Summerville, SC, Larry Pinckney of Walterboro, SC and Ernest Pinckney of Jacksonville, FL; five aunts, Jessie Brown of New York City, Eleanor Treadwell of Birmingham, AL, Brenda Ware of Birmingham, AL, Etrica Reese of Atlanta, GA and Dorothy Simmons of Walterboro, SC; two uncles, Roosevelt Ware of Atlanta, GA and Leon Ware of Birmingham, AL; three God Children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
