Elder Isadore Williams Sr. was born March 15, 1935, in Neyles, SC (The City of Hospitality) to the late Marcellus Ellis and Janie Mae Williams. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, SC.
Isadore was a graduate of Colleton Training School where he made lasting friendships with many in the community. Previous to enlisting in the military, he worked at Novit’s Fashion Shop and the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Walterboro, SC. Honoring his duty to his country, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he became a Machinist Mate, 2nd Class and served for 21 years and 3 months. During the Vietnam War he served on various naval ships offering support to ground troops. He completed many “Around the World Tours” which included crossing the Equator. After retiring from the military, he and his family moved back to Neyles, SC from Mayport, Florida. He then worked for the Colleton County Health Department for 16 years, continuing to cultivate friendships not only with co-workers but being a friend to all who met him.
At a young age, Isadore accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and joined Aimwell Presbyterian Church where he served in various capacities, Male Choir, Bell Ringer, Deacon and Elder. In addition, he performed financial duties. Isadore loved the Lord and supported his church and church family in every aspect of his life. He advocated for community awareness, coaching girls’ softball, performed managerial duties at the Neyles Community Center and served as a Poll Manger through the Colleton County Voter Registration and Elections. Isadore served as a mentor and father figure for anyone who was in need. His friendly disposition made him well loved and respected in the community.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Louise Frasier Williams of the home, who affectionately called him “Willie”, Children: Isadore Williams, Jr. of Dale City, Virginia, Tony Williams (Jessica) of Walterboro, SC, Deadgrea Sadler of Walterboro, SC, Andrea Blanding (Kenneth) of Ladson, SC, Douglas Williams (Robin) of Sicklerville, New Jersey and Juliette Williams, Neyles, SC. One son, Marquious Williams I, preceded him in death. Siblings: Eva Nell Fishburne of Walterboro, SC, Matha Hankerson of Neyles SC, Georgianna White (Jackie) of Neyles SC, and Sharon Edwards of Spring Lake,NC. Six siblings preceded him in death: Willie C. Wiliams, Sr., Herbert Williams, Ellis Williams, Pauline Hunter, Mary King and Aleck Williams,Sr. Brother and Sister-in-Laws: Eunice Williams of Springtown,SC, Anthony “Tony” King of Springtown, SC, Deloris Williams of Neyles, SC, Helen Gantt of Neyles, SC, Erie Pinckney (Nathan) of Neyles, SC and Barbara Singleton (Richard) of Walterboro, SC. Fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
