Hassan Nagi Johnson was born on December 17, 2007, in Charleston, SC, at 5:30 a.m. to his parents Aneka Johnson and Karnell Ferguson. He was the oldest son of his mother and the fourth son of his father. Hassan was a blessing to this world, known for his amazing smile and vibrant personality.
In September 2009, Hassan and his family relocated to Savannah, GA, seeking better opportunities and to be closer to his Nanna, who had moved there just two years prior. He was enrolled in the Chatham County School System in Savannah, where his love for art and sports began. Hassan played football for Beach and Windsor Forest High Schools before developing a passion for soccer. Teaching himself the game became a major goal, and he practiced daily to master his skills. His endurance was remarkable; no matter the challenge, he always pushed through. A very skilled artist, much of Hassan’s work reflected the emotions and feelings he needed to express. He dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, and his dreams will live on through his family. He was deeply loved by everyone who crossed his path; his energy was unforgettable. Hassan was a determined “go-getter.” He worked as a host, busboy, and bar back at a Mexican restaurant in Savannah—his favorite cuisine. He also worked as a cashier at Dollar Tree, where he was known for his kind, respectful manner and captivating smile.
Hassan held all his siblings dear to his heart, especially his little brother Sincere. Growing up just 22 months apart, they called themselves “Irish Twins,” a term Hassan also used for his sister Aaliyah. He adored all his family, including his older sisters Aushieya and Jahnavia, his father, grandparents, and cousins.
Hassan Nagi Johnson departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Savannah, GA. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents Aneka Johnson of Savannah, GA, and Karnell Ferguson of Walterboro, SC; siblings Aushieya and Jahnavia Johnson of Savannah, GA; Sincere Johnson of Savannah, GA; Breanna Mitchell of Charlotte, NC; Daizon Ferguson, Logan Ferguson, Kyshawn Ferguson, and Aaliyah Ferguson of Walterboro, SC; Ivion Ferguson; Timothy and Cynthia Haynes; maternal grandmother Claritha Johnson of Savannah, GA; maternal grandfather Walter Johnson (deceased); uncles Walter “Nagi” Johnson (deceased) and De’quan Smalls of Savannah, GA; aunt Ghia Johnson of Walterboro, SC; niece Aryan Hamilton of Savannah, GA; nephew; paternal grandparents Gilbert and Mimi Blakney; aunts Katori Ferguson, Kwana Floyd, and Shanika Basnight; uncle Kendrick Ferguson; special cousin Kyren Floyd; and a host of other cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.
