Mr. Harvey Williams, son of the late Leroy Williams and Irene Wilkey, was born on August 16, 1940. On Monday, March 23, 2026, he peacefully departed his earthly home.
Harvey was educated in the public schools of Colleton County, where he spent his formative years surrounded by family and community.
In 1972, Harvey moved to New York, beginning a new chapter of his life. There he worked for the Chung Wong Foo Trucking Company in Chinatown, building a reputation for dedication and hard work. After retiring in 1989, he returned to his beloved South Carolina. Never one to remain idle, he continued to serve his community by working with the City of Walterboro for 22 years. He also contributed his skills and strong work ethic at Poco Sabo Plantation in Green Pond, South Carolina.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert Wilkey, Larry Wilkey, Ralph Wilkey, Thomas Wilkey and Alvin Wilkey; sisters, Faye Walters and Gladys Mitchell; nephews, Daniel Walters, Patrick Walters and Chris Walters and a special friend, Fanny Washington.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Tyrone Heyward of St. Stephens, South Carolina and Hassan Kates of Walterboro, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Aykeshia Kates and Niameea Kates; three grandsons, Aiden Kemp, Tyquan Heyward and Tyrone Heyward; ten great-grandchildren; a special niece, Nicole (Macole) Harris of Boston, Massachusetts; one sister, Celestine (Elder Bobby) Bazzell; three sisters-in-law, Susan Wilkey, Edna Wilkey and Ruth Wilkey; one special sister-in-law, Brenda Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
