Mr. Grady Coleman was born to the late Herbert and Julia Robinson Coleman on February 21, 1941, in Saluda, SC. He traded time for eternity on Sunday July 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. At age 16 he moved to New York, where he later met and married the late Ernestine Chisolm on February 15, 1962. To this union 8 children were born.
After moving his family back to South Carolina, he worked with the South Carolina Highway Department for a while where he helped build some of interstate 95. He spent the remainder of his life driving truck until he retired. Later in life Grady became a member of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Joseph Williams Jr.
Along with his parents and wife, Grady is preceded in death by two sons: Grady Chisolm and Joey Coleman, and seven siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memories, five daughters; Verlanda Black, Ereka (Xavier) Singleton, Julia (Alphonso) Barco, Regina Coleman, and Delanesha (Sir Zachary) Wyatt II. Three sons; Jerome (Felisa) Coleman, Richard (Shirley) Givens and Jarvea Myers. Two sisters; Willie Mae Morgan and Dorothy (James) Ivory of New York. 27 Grandchildren and 28 greatgrands and 1 great, great, grand. Brothers-in-law; Rev. Joseph (Annie B.) Williams, Jr. & Rev. Thomas (Rose) Williams. Sisters-in-law; Teresa Williams & Loretta (Paul) Williams. A best friend; Norman Washington, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
