Mr. Gordon Angelo Hamilton, beloved son of the late Freddie Hamilton and Carrie Ancrum, was born on June 10, 1954, in Walterboro, South Carolina. He peacefully departed this life on Friday, May 23, 2025.
He was a 1972 graduate of Colleton High School and after graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
In 1989, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Marstella Mitchell. Gordon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents; grandparents, Arbell and Mannie Ancrum; daughter, Lizette Mitchell; uncle, Abraham Ancrum; aunt, Lila Ancrum and one brother.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife of 39 years, Marstella “Jackie” Hamilton of Walterboro, SC. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Tamika Hamilton of Jacksonville, NC, Gordon Hamilton, Jr. of Summerville, SC, and Samantha Mitchell of Orlando, FL.
Gordon’s memory will live on through his grandchildren: Daimon Meda and Madison Williams of Jacksonville, NC, and Malachi and Seth Newell of Orlando, FL.
He is also survived by his sisters, Priscilla (Nathaniel) Holmes of Summerville, SC, and Gwendolyn Jackson of Valley Cottage, NY; aunts, Viola Ferguson of Yemassee, SC, Lorrine Hamilton of Walterboro, SC and Minnie Ann Ancrum of Savannah, GA; uncle, Charley Ferguson of Florida; sister-in laws, Gracie Jarido of Tennessee, Barbara Jarido of Ritter, SC, Shirley Mitchell of Yemassee, SC and Viola Williams of Yemassee, SC; brother-in-law, Ricky Mitchell of Yemassee, SC; nieces, Kaitlin (Matthew) Locklear and Madison Locklear of Summerville, SC; and nephews, Cyril Jackson and Tarik Jackson of Valley Cottage, NY.
Gordon will be deeply missed by his extended family and a host of friends who knew and loved him.
