Born on Christmas Day, 1945, Ms. Florrie Ann Brock Powell, known lovingly as "Nig," was a cherished daughter of the late Mr. Willie J. Brock Sr. and the late Mrs. Helen Edward Brock.
Her life was rooted in Colleton County, South Carolina, where she grew up and remained a faithful devoted member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Round O, S.C., for many years.
After completing her education in Colleton County, she ventured to New York City for a year, but her heart drew her back home. There, she married Mr. Dávid Powell Sr., and together, they raised three children: the late Mr. Issac M. Powell (Shalika), Ms. Antoinette Powell of New York, and Mr. David Carson Powell Jr. (Sherri) of Summerville, S.C.
Florrie Ann dedicated many years to working in Colleton County, notably at Dayco Inc. in Walterboro, S.C., which she was a hard worker for many years until later retiring due to health issues.
Florrie Ann Powell was devoted to God, and her greatest joys were living a dedicated life spending time with the family, her cooking, and a joyful role as a loving, dedicated grandmother.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her beautiful children, five grandchildren Shaniqua Council, Kiffany Powell, Tahirah Powell, Brandon Powell, and Chelsea Powell, four great-grandchildren, and her siblings Mr. Willie James. Brock Jr. (Brenda), Ms. Dorothy Mae Simmons, Ms. Letha Brock and Mr. Carroll "Stormy" Brock (Denean). Two aunts, Ms. Beneatha Beal and Ms. Daisy Brock. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other families, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. David Powell Sr., her son Mr. Issac M. Powell, her sister Ms. Belinda Faye Brock Farmer and her brother-in-law, Mr. Preston Simmons.
