Mr. Ezekiel Deal, son of the late George and Ella Deal was born on December 15, 1924, in Ritter, South Carolina. He transitioned from glory to reward on November 5, 2024, at his residence.
Ezekiel attended public school in Ritter, South Carolina. He served his country in the Navy for four years. At an early age, he learned the trade of Brick Masonry from his father. He was a craftsman at his trade and trained many young men in the art of masonry until his health failed.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Hessie Lee Spell Deal.
Ezekiel was a lifelong member of St. Paul CME Church until his health failed. He was not only a member but was very instrumental in the restoration of the current building and served faithfully on the Trustee Board for many years.
He was a major huntsman, deer season was his passion. He loved everything from the hunting, butchering and saving the horns as souvenirs.
Ezekiel loved to dress well and be sporty. He also had a love for nice cars and trucks. He was a great talker and loved showing the family property to those who came to visit.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Earl Deal and Joe Mack Green; granddaughter, D’Anna E. Deal; grandsons, Jeremy Green and Joe Mack Green, Jr.; three sisters and eight brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 68 years, Hessie; a daughter, Sandra Deal Jones of Walterboro; his special grandniece and caretaker, Phyllis Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
