Miss. Eleanor Rebecca Huggins, the daughter of the late Haskell and Isabella Simmons Huggins, was born on February 1, 1956, in the White Hall Community of Yemassee, SC. She entered rest on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Trident Medical Center, Charleston South Carolina .
Eleanor received her education in the public schools of Colleton County. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age under the Leadership of The Late Reverend David Green at Ebenezer CME Church in White Hall, SC.
A diligent worker, she was employed within household management and various food chains from Walterboro to Hilton Head, SC. She was a lover for family. She enjoyed softball, dancing and was the life of any party. Affectionally called “Nana;” to know her was to love her.
In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five (5) brothers and two (2) sisters.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her four (4) children: Jason (Melika) Huggins, Summerville, SC, Shaneikqua Muhammad, Walterboro, SC, Jamal Muhammad, Norfolk, VA and Shamone Huggins, Columbus, GA “Special daughter” Dominique Evans, Boston, Mass. Three (3) brothers, Anderson (Eva) Huggins, White Hall, SC, Jake (Patricia) Huggins, Charleston, SC, Lawrence Huggins, White Hall, SC, two (2) sister, Nancy Nelson, Brooklyn, New York, E. Deloris (Leonard) Mack, Ritter, SC; Two (2) Nieces reared as sisters, Theresa Dianne (Haskell) Magwood, White Hall, SC, and Shirley Singleton, Charleston, SC. One (1) Nephew reared as a brother, David L. Huggins, Savannah, GA; Two(2) sisters-in-law, Barbara A. Huggins and Linda Huggins both of White Hall, SC Eleven (11) Grand Children, Jaylin Huggins, Camrin Heyward, Jshon Whitlock, Janiya Huggins, Destiny Washington, Jahmari Washington, Shamiya Muhammad-Hayes, Asher Muhammad, Heaven Muhammad, Davonna Glover and Purpose Holmes Two (2) Great-grands, Amari’ana Washington, and A’morah Washington along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,; other relatives and friends.
