Elder Ricky Reed, Sr., was born June 20, 1959, in Colleton County, SC to the late George and Bertha Washington Reed. He entered eternal rest on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, SC.
Ricky was a graduate of Walterboro High School in 1977 where he made many lasting friendships. Immediately he was employed at Georgia Pacific where he worked for many years until closure. Upon closure he began his career as a Detailer at Rick Hendrick Dealership.
At a young age, Ricky accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Mt. Zion AME Church. After marrying his wife, Karen, he became a devoted member of Aimwell Presbyterian Church where he served in various capacities, Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Various Choirs In the community, Ricky was an active member of the Jacksonboro Male Choir and Colleton County Mass Choir.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and faithful wife Karen Reed of Jacksonboro, SC ; his daughter Brittney Reed of Rock Hill, SC; one son preceded in death, Ricky Reed Jr.; five brothers and two sisters, Ronald Washington of Walterboro, SC, Donald Washington (Rose) of Walterboro, SC, one twin sister Rachel Garrett (Walter) of Walterboro, SC, Bobby Reed of Walterboro, SC, Jimmy Reed (Laurienetta) of Columbia, SC, Billy Reed (Tanya) of Virginia and Sandra R. (Rodney) of Columbia, SC; sister and brother in laws, Burenethal Gilliam (John) of Maryland; Frankie Holmes of Jacksonboro SC, Lee Rogers Frasier (Laverne) of Beaufort, SC, Rose Jordan (Gary) of Summerville, SC, Carl Frasier (Patricia) of Round O, SC, Allen Frasier (Edith) of Adams Run, SC, Shelia Gibson (Carl) of Columbia, SC, Stacy Davis of Columbia, SC and Willie Frasier (Evelyn) of Mount Pleasant, SC along with a host of nieces, nephews, Cousins, other relatives, and caring friends.
