Dyann Patricia Chisolm, daughter of the late Anderson and Bernice Edwards was born March 8, 1956, in Colleton County. On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Dyann entered eternal rest at her residence in Cottageville, South Carolina.
Dyann graduated from Colleton High in 1974 and furthered her education at Morris College. Dyann was employed at Head Start for 10 years and for the Colleton County School District for 20 years, she was also employed part time at Super Bad Clothing.
At an early age, Dyann joined Jericho United Methodist until she joined hands in holy matrimony to James Chisolm. She then joined Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal church. Dyann served as an usher for many years and was on the choir.
Dyann was known for being Wesley Grove Matriarch and a mother to many. Her love for her family and children in general was unmatched. You would never be at a softball game and not know she was there. Rather it was one of Wesley Grove games, or one of the high school games where her daughters played and now coach. She was the loudest and biggest fan.
Dyann was united in Holy Matrimony to James Lee Chisolm on May 11th, 1991, and to this union one child was born.
Dyann was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Chisolm Jr; her parents, Anderson and Bernice Edwards; three brothers, Louis Edwards, Moody Edwards and Johnny Ray.
Dyann leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Quincy (Latoya Diane) Chisolm of Walterboro, SC, Tavara Tootie Edwards (Mike) of Ridgeville, SC and Ta’Shauna Chisolm of Cottageville, SC; six grandchildren, Shyheim (Hailey) Chisolm, Shyanne Chisolm, Shykem Chisolm, Shamorie Overton, Jamarcus Holmes and Mylo Brown; three, great-grandchildren, Shyheim Chisolm, Jr, Shareef Chisolm, and Shy’Ra Chisolm; one brother, James Levi Edwards of Hartford, Connecticut; four sisters, Katherine Keys of Washington, DC, Glenda Murray of Walterboro, SC, Mattie Edwards of Walterboro, SC and Cynthia (Tommy) Mays of Walterboro, SC; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Betty) Chisolm and Quinton (Janice) Wright; sister-in-law, Doris Edwards and a special friend Mary Alice Manigo along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
