Ms. Dorothy Mae Jenkins, daughter of the late Franklin and Isabell Jenkins was born on June 21, 1943. She was born and raised in the Catholic Hill Community.
Dorothy attended the public schools of Colleton County and upon graduating, she relocated to Charleston, South Carolina. She believed in working and was employed at Roper Hospital for over 30 years until her retirement.
Dorothy was a firm believer in God and tried her best to live everyday according to his word. She possessed a passion for her family like no other even with her feisty ways. Her hobbies were cooking a big meal to feed everyone or just babysitting all her nieces and nephews. Dorothy never complained and to know her was to love her. She will live in our hearts forever.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Francena Smith, Mildred Mack and Mary L. Jenkins and one brother, Herbert Lee Jenkins.
Left to cherish her loving and devoted memories on this side her one and only daughter, Caronica Jenkins of Beaufort, SC; granddaughter, Latifa Jenkins-Logan (Tyrone) of Yemassee, SC; three great grandsons, Tyrone Logan, Jr., Tyshawn Logan and Tyrese Logan all of Yemassee, SC; three sisters, Ruthie Mae Smith of Columbus, OH, Luvenia Jenkins Cross (Bernard) of Green Pond, SC and Rubina Roberts (Rufus) of Walterboro, SC; four brothers, Nathaniel Washington of Columbus, OH, Franklin Jenkins (Joann) of Walterboro, SC, John Jenkins (Mamie) and James Frederick Jenkins both of Green Pond, SC; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Jenkins of Walterboro, SC; one brother-in-law, Albert Smith of Charleston, SC; a special friend, Silas Williams of Charleston, SC; a special niece like a granddaughter, Moneisha Jenkins along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends who will love and miss her dearly.
