Deacon Elijah Frasier, son of the late Mr. Sammie Frasier, Sr. and Mamie Richard Frasier was born on August 1, 1945, in Green Pond, SC. On the morning of October 18, 2022, while in the comfort of his home Elijah traded time for eternity as he was surrounded by his loving family. Elijah was educated in the public school system of Colleton County. At a young age he moved to New York to pursue life and help provide for his family and his siblings in South Carolina. He retired from Mount St. Vincent Hospital in 2012 after serving as their Head Chef for 44 years. He also held a seasonal job at Rappaport for 8 years.
A man of steadfast faith, Elijah was a diligent and dedicated servant. While in New York he joined Bethel AME Church and was an active member for 30 years. When he retired and moved back to his hometown of Green Pond, South Carolina, he joined Heavenly Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon in 2012, until he encountered health challenges.
Elijah was united in Holy Matrimony to Carriel Jenkins of Hollywood, South Carolina. Their union was blessed with the birth of three beautiful daughters: Loushon, Chalice and Serenne. After 45 years that marriage was dissolved. Later Elijah met and married Regenia Rivers of Daniel Island, South Carolina on April 6, 2013. They were blessed with 9 wonderful years together where they shared much love, joy, peace, laughter, travel and devotion. He also gained another daughter Angel Marie. Elijah continued to embrace and enjoy life with Regenia until his health began to fail. He endured his trials and tribulations and all of his physical challenges with much grace and courage. He often told Regenia how grateful he was to have her in his life as they endured his battles together. She showered him with lots of love and affection as she, along with his family, nurtured him with the utmost care until his demise. He loved and lived well! Elijah fought the good fight of faith!
He loved the Lord, family and friends and enjoyed tending to his yard. Elijah was someone we knew we could depend on. Whenever you called on him, he was there to answer your beckoning call and lend a helping hand. We will truly miss the joy and laughter we shared with him. Thank you, Elijah, you provided us with an example of how to love, live humbly and how to serve graciously. He smiled infectiously, praised the Lord, loved to dance, and most of all enjoyed life.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his Brother Sammie Lee Frasier, Jr.; Brothers- in - Law Sheldon Rivers; Harry J. Lane, Sr.; Richard Lee Rivers; Sister- in - law Marilyn Washington Frasier and his Mother-in-law, Sarah B. Washington. Niece, Karen Frasier and Nephew, Lamont James.
