Cleveland Jones Obituary

Cleveland Jones was the son of the late Jimmie Jones and Laura Logan Jones. He was born on May 28, 1948, in Walterboro, South Carolina.  Cleveland graduated from Colleton High School with the class of 1966 and joined the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam war. Upon returning home, Cleveland married the love of his life, Mary Tracy of Walterboro, South Carolina, where they raised their three children. Cleveland was employed at Dayco Products for thirty years and retired in 2013.

Cleveland Jones had a zest for life and constantly showered his family and friends with love through his actions. He literally never met a stranger and always strived to make every person he met laugh until their heart was content. Cleveland was committed to serving his community through volunteerism along with his wife; taking voters to the polls, mowing lawns for the elderly, delivering meals to the sick; just to name a few. He found joy in spending time with his family, landscaping and nurturing his plants and flowers, he also enjoyed serving on the Deacon Board at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and where he also sang in the choir. Cleveland loved the Lord and served faithfully until he entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2024, at Trident Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.
