Ashley D. McWilliams may have left us on November 4, 2025, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Ashley was born on October 30, 1987, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to the late Rose Mary James, and was later adopted by the late Margaret James Ulmer and Lawrence D. Ulmer.
She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her children, who were the light of her life.
Until her health declined, Ashley was employed as a manager at Church’s Texas Chicken in Goose Creek, South Carolina, where she was known for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic.
Ashley is survived by her three loving children, Victor J.J. Wrice, Ka'Murah N. Gresham, and Don'tajah Z. Green; and her beloved companion, Pierre Rutledge. She also leaves behind her sister, Lameshia Dent (Micheal), and three siblings, Debbie James, Rekeitha J. Terry (Quincy), and Desiron James.
Her life and love extend to a host of family members—nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends—whose lives she touched with her humor, strength, and grace. Ashley’s spirit will continue to shine through the many hearts she inspired.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
