At the young age of 27 years old, Apostle Burgess dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. In 1983, He
answered the Pastoral call and was the Founder of Miracle Temple Church. Many souls were saved,
healed and delivered under this ministry. Apostle Burgess loved the Lord with his whole heart and lived
an exemplary life of discipline and devotion to the Kingdom of God and righteousness. He was avid

Apostle Burgess truly loved His family, and well as His church family. Mother Lila Burgess is a faithful and
devoted church Mother of over 40 years and has been very instrumental in guidance, growth and
development in His walk with Christ. We have truly been blessed by God to have been carefully and
strategically assigned such a loving and wonderful Saint that we called Apostle, Pastor, Husband, Dad,
Granddad, Great Granddad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and our Friend that constantly displayed Galatians
5:22-23 but the fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Although He has taught us many lessons, one of
His favorites was to have Trust, Faith, Believe, and Depend on Jesus. Now is the time for us to practice what He has taught, preached and lived according to.
Apostle John Henry Burgess will truly be loved and missed. Take Your Rest Good and Faithful Servant.
