Respectfully, we honor the life of Mrs. Doris Glover Williams. Doris Glover-Williams, daughter of the late Josh Glover and Earline Gant Glover, was a Scorpio, born on November 12, 1953. On early Saturday morning, December 14, 2019, at Trident Medical Center, she was called to be with her Lord as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Doris, who was affectionately known by her close family members and friends as “Dada”, attended and graduated from Colleton High School. She played on the basketball team as a proud “Wolverine”. She was also an excellent 1st baseman and clean up woman for the “Super Stars Softball Team. Their theme song was: “Aint No Stopping Us Now”!! Dada was employed at Hardees for many years as an excellent cook. She was later employed at Williams Seafood as the best “fish fryer” in the county. She worked there many years until her health started to take a different turn. Dada, joined Mt. Zion AMEC at an early age. She was so blessed with the new technology where she was able to be a part of the worship service via live streaming. But back in the day, when we came from church, she had that spread waiting for us and she wanted to hear what the service was all about. We will miss those “Big Momma” meals!! Doris was married to the late Moses “Zack” Williams and she gave birth to 3 children. Two daughters and one son, Demaine Maurice Williams who preceded her in death along with her father, four brothers and one sister.
Doris leaves to cherish her fondest memories; two daughters: Lawanda Glover-Holmes (Kevin) and Patriese Mosley (Michael) both of Walterboro, SC; a son by marriage, Moses Toby Williams (Joanne) of Tennessee; mother, Earline Glover, five sisters; Carrie Glover- Myers, RoseAnn Glover, Karen Glover, Diane Glover and Sharon Glover-Holmes, all of Walterboro, SC. Special thanks to her awesome caregivers: Davon “DJ” Glover, Karon “Ron” Glover, Jaron “JJ” Bedford, Anthony “Junior” Bedford, Quantis “Perk” Sanders and Gregory Bomar.
