Mr. Herbert Wilson (U.S. Air Force - Vet) Obituary

Respectfully, we honor the life of Mr. Herbert Wilson, 70, of Cottageville, South Carolina.

Mr. Herbert Harris Wilson was born on September 1, 1949 and went to be with the lord on October 13th, 2019. Herbert Wilson, if you knew him,” Herb” said it all. Funny and energetic, loving and caring, strong and determined, intelligent and kind are just a few ways Herb can be described. He was the life of the party, and he had a smile and presence that could brighten the darkest room. Herb met few strangers, and to know him, you had a friend for life. Herbert was second of eleven children born to late the Rachel Myrtis Evans and the late William Harris Wilson in Cottageville, South Carolina.

Herbert started his adult life in the United States Air Force, in which he served his country overseas during the Vietnam Era. He trained in varies types engineering while serving his country and obtained the rank of Senior Airman prior to ending his enlistment. Herbert returned to civilian life as a mechanical engineer and became a proud father of two in which through struggles and life setbacks, he made it his life goal to assist his children in all manners possible. Life as a father made Herbert a proud man and if you knew Herb, then you knew his children and grandchildren. His love for family was engrained into him by his parents. He loved parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and anyone he took in as his family.

Herbert Harris Wilson was a great man.

Herbert H. Wilson is survived by his daughter Nicole Johnson (Antonio Johnson) and his son, Jason Briley, his three grandchildren Antonio Johnson Jr. Jasana Briley, and Angelo Johnson, his four sisters  Rashidah Ahmad (Luqman Ahmad), Kamilah Sharif, Ameedah Abuwi (Muhammad Abuwi), and Rosa L. Wilson, his four brothers Bernard Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Hammad Rashad, Thomas Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents Rachel Myrtis Evans and William Harris Wilson, his brothers Carol Wilson and George Wilson.
