Mr. Desmond A. Bedford (U.S.M.C. - Vet) Obituary

We pause to share in the moments of life of Mr. Desmond A. Bedford. Affectionately known as "Big Dezz" by all who knew and loved him; he is a resident of the Mcdanieltown community of Ridgeville, South Carolina.DESMOND ANTHONY BEDFORD A.K.A “BIGG DEZZ", the son of Joyce Crawford Glover and the late Anthony Dwayne “Tony" Bedford, was born on September 23, 1982 in Richland County, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Colleton Medical Center. DESMOND grew up in the McDaniel Town Community. He attended the public schools of Colleton County, participating in the high school ROTC program. After graduation from high school, Desmond enlist ed into the United States Marine Corps, in which he served form 2000 through 2005. He was relieved of is duties and honorable dis charged with the rrank of Lance Corporal. After leaving the military, DESMOND did odd jobs until he began working at Vault. Upon leaving Vault, DESMOND went to work at Boeing Aircraft plant in North Charleston. He was employed at Boeing at the time of his death. DESMOND joined Sandhill United Methodist Church at an early age, and at the time of his passing, he was a member of Abiding Word Family Ministries of Moncks Corner, S. C., where Reverend Sam Gourdine is the pastor. "BIGG DEZZ" enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Family meant everything to him. He also enjoyed fixing up his cars and placing them in various car shows throughout the southeast region. He attended car shows in Atlanta (NOPI, National), Myrtle Beach and Charleston. “DEZZ" was very proud of his work with cars and the friends he made who shared this unique passion. A key compo nent to his personality was that he enjoyed laughing, having fun, and helping others. DESMOND was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Dwayne Bedford, Grandparents Evelyn Walker, Burnie (Dollie) Crawford, Purvis Crawford and several aunts and uncles. DESMOND ANTHONY BEDFORD leaves to chrish memories of the life he lived. His Mother: Joyce (Kenneth) Glover; Two Daughters: Aami ra Sari Bedford of Macomb, MI, Aaliyah Neveah Bedford of Summer ville, SC; Grandparents: Herbert (Kim) Crawford of Ridgeville, SC, Tina Williams of Walterboro, SC; Great Grandmother: Ruth Siders of Walterboro, SC; Four Uncles: Clarence Dukes of Greelyville, SC, Frankie Williams of Walterboro, SC. Larry Glover of Columbia, SC and Rudolph (Shelia) Glover of Ridgeville, SC; Two Brothers: Jaron J. Bedford, and Tony D. Bedford. One Sister: Ebony J. Jordan of North Carolina; A Special Friend: Moneat Williams. Desmond also leaves a host of other family members and friends to cherish his memories.
