Respectfully, we honor the life of Mr. Charles Holmes. Affectionately known to all who knew him as, “Belly”; he is a resident of Round O.
Mr. Charles Holmes also known as “Belly” son of the late Christopher and Ruthie Holmes was born in Colleton County on April 4, 1953. He departed this life on November 4, 2019.
Charles attended public schools in Colleton County. He was employed with Dupriest Construction for more than thirty-five years until he retired. He was united in Holy matrimony to Daisy Holmes for forty seven years to this union there was one child born. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Christopher and Ruthie Holmes, two sisters, Beulah Simmons and Ella Holmes and one brother Neption (Slim) Holmes.
Those left behind to embrace his memories is his loving and devoted wife Daisy, one daughter Sherlie (Damain) Samuels, one granddaughter, Kyeesha Brown who was the “apple of his eye” both of Summerville, SC; one sister, Sadie Holmes of Round O, SC; one brother, Jerome Holmes of Walterboro, SC; sister in laws EllaRuth Holmes, Christine Hamilton, Sadie Nelson, Margaret
(Arthur) Frazier; Brother in laws, Caesar Moultrie, Joseph Frazier, Craig Frazier, Mark Frazier, and Arthur Frazier. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and most importantly his special boys James Holmes, Julius Holmes, and Sinclair Holmes. He also leaves special friends behind, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Frasier and Bobo Holmes. Some of his favorite sayings are “I Aint Nothing but a Man” and “Holmes My Name.”
